A cream boucle field crossed by fine saffron lines that gather, split and meet again like paths drawn in the sand. At the centre a small saffron diamond holds the composition; at the lower right a deep block of gold anchors it, balanced by a chequerboard of diagonals across the base. The bottom edge finishes in a dotted yellow border and hand-twisted fringes. Minimal, warm and quietly graphic, Tafukt (the Amazigh word for sun) brings light into a room without raising its voice.

Sizes and lead time
Woven to order. The photos show the reference piece woven by the cooperative. Choose your size and fringe finish and the same design is knotted for you: count 6 to 8 weeks to your door. Hand-knotting means your rug will carry its own small variations from the photo. That is part of every handmade piece.
Why this rug
One block of saffron gold does the work of a whole palette. The design stays minimal but never cold.
The line-work reads like a map: paths that wander across the field and meet at the centre diamond.
Thick hand-spun wool with a dense boucle surface, deep enough to sink your toes into.
I chose this design because it pairs with almost everything: wood, white walls, linen, plants. It warms a room on its own.
How this sits in a room
In natural light
In daylight the cream field reads warm ivory and the saffron lines glow. Under warm evening bulbs the gold block deepens toward amber and the whole rug turns honeyed.
Wall colours it suits
Off-white, linen and greige let the saffron carry the colour. Terracotta and ochre echo it for a warmer, layered look. Avoid cool greys, which flatten the gold.
Floor and furniture
Beautiful on warm wood and stone floors. Keep nearby textiles neutral: the yellow is the accent, let it be the only one.
Care instructions
Vacuum regularly
Low suction, against the pile. Avoid the fringes with the nozzle.
Brush once or twice a year
Keeps the wool fibres alive and the texture looking its best.
Treat stains quickly
Blot gently with warm water and a little Woolite. Never rub.
Let it breathe
Never leave it folded for long. Wool needs air to stay in good shape.
Natural freshening tip
A light mist of water, bicarbonate of soda, and a few drops of mint essential oil refreshes the rug between cleans and acts as a natural insect repellent in spring and summer.
