Every order from Tissire Atelier includes care instructions to help you preserve your rug over time. A handwoven wool rug is built to last for decades. A little regular attention is all it takes.
Everyday careVacuum regularly
Use low suction and go gently against the pile. Avoid running the nozzle over the fringes directly.
Brush once or twice a year
A soft brush restores the natural texture of the wool fibres and keeps the rug looking alive.
Treat stains immediately
Act fast. Blot the stain gently with warm water and a small amount of Woolite. Never rub.
DIY spray recipe
Keep it fresh between cleans
Mix these three ingredients in a spray bottle and apply a light mist to your rug. It refreshes the fibres and also acts as a natural insect repellent during spring and summer.
Water
Bicarbonate of soda
A few drops of mint essential oil
Let it breathe
Avoid leaving your rug folded or stored away for long periods. Wool needs air to stay in good condition. If you do need to store it, roll it loosely, wrap it in breathable fabric, and keep it in a dry, ventilated space. Air it out and vacuum it lightly before putting it back down.
